I applaud you, Grog, for your stirring argument. It makes perfect sense to me, and I couldn't have said it any better myself. Science is what has given us all we have today. We have evolved throughout the years and grown intelligent; we have searched for a reason for it all and have found means to better our life through human intellect.

The other day, a friend of mine, who is Christian, was spouting off about how she didn't believe in evolution. Her reasoning? Because we, as humans, have not yet evolved. Another friend of mine, who is also athiest, told her this: We have not evolved because we have been able to hault the evolution process with science. We have glasses for those who cannot see. We have hearing aids for those who cannot hear. We have created synthetic limbs and cures for diseases. All this through the process of science.

What has theology given us? A book telling us that if we do not pray to some unknown being, we will suffer in eternal damnation. I do not find it particularily useful to be told that I'm going to hell for my 'constant' sins. No one is perfect, so the idea of heaven is thereafter proven to be little more than a crock.

I believe I have gotten my point across clearly enough.
