Anyone can be a Buddhist! Anyone can be a Buddha or have a buddha nature! An atheist or a priest could be a buddha and not even be aware of it! If they have practiced "uninterested(unrewarded) altruism and spent thier lives caring unselfishly for those in need,the Buddhist might consider him an "unawakened buddha" or at least enlightened and compassionate and have a buddha nature! Grog
