I've done quite a bit of research into the stem cell research issue. Not an expert by any means but have learned some interesting facts.

Embryonic stem cell research is an abomination far as I am concerned. The "experts" would have you believe that the embryos used are being wasted anyway if not used for research and just discarded. They get them from abortions and from labs who do the invetro fertilization.

The results of testing so far have been abysmal. They mostly test on mice and rats...small animals but they have done some testing on humans. In one case they injected a Parkinsons patient with embryonic cells (into the brain) and the cells developed into a bone and hair mass and the patient died.

The problem with the embryonic approach is that there is no way to tell what the cells will develop into so they can't really be harnessed and used effectively. There has been not one case of even partial success...the only thing that embryonic stem cells have grown are tumors ...in whatever they were planted in.

Now, Adult stem cell research, the kind of stem cells you get from umbilical cord blood, has been extremely successful. There are many cases where the patient has completely recovered. One case I read has an MS patient free from any symptoms of the disease. Another talks about a young boy in the UK who suffers from that bubble boy syndrom (sorry, I forget the technical name) who is now living a perfectly normal life. They have even seen improvements in Parkinsons patients.

You may wonder why then, there is such a push for the embryonic research?

Fact is that embryonic research is a back door to doing Cloning research...research which is illegal in the US. So we okay them to do embryonic SC research and they can experiment till they are blue in the face all in the name of making lame people walk. Who in their right mind would be against that?

Far as abortion is concerned you should already be wary of their intentions when going for abortion counseling. They already sell baby body parts...it's a HUGE industry and pretty much unregulated....just as abortions are.

So you need to do your own research on this. I'm not lying...just giving the facts I found out from impartial readings. Some in the government would sell you a bill of goods because this means BIG BUCKS!!!

What they miss is that Nothing and I do mean NOTHING good can come from a cannibalistic procedure....fertilizing an egg to create life so you can destroy it to supposedly help another life.

It smacks of Josef Mengele reborn.
