No kidding!
Been there, tried that. In fact, I discovered very quickly that I could still drink while taking Antabuse. (alcoholic behavior or WHAT?!) I took a sip just to see what would happen. Stupid.
Nothing happened. So I took another... Discovered I could actually drink several beers on Antabuse and not puke or keel over, but talk about a STUPID thing to try. And a flashing neon sign that I wasn't ready to do whatever it took to be sober. "Oh if I just take this little pill it will solve everything." Sigh.
Don't get any ideas anyone who might be taking Antabuse. It is NOT something to mess with. I was just plain lucky. There were several times when I did black out trying this stunt. Could have done some serious heart damage & who knows what else. I've subsequently heard horror stories about Antabuse.
My point being that when one is truly ready to do whatever it takes -- to take step one-- you will. And you won't play with loaded guns.
