Contact a Legal Aid office near you. If they cannot help you ask them who can. If they have no answers for you, start calling lawyers in the phone book and ask them to do a pro bono case.

There is no debtor's prison.

You could try and talk to the credit card company but it may but do any good. They just want money and could care less about circumstances.
