Can anyone help? I am experiencing abdominal pains whilst releasing an enema – the longer I hold the enema (up to 21 minutes) the worse the pain. I have no problem or pain whilst holding the solution, just in the 5 or so minutes to release it. I have tried various solutions of water, coffee and camomile tea with a tablespoon of salt - all have the same effect. Is this just an electrolyte imbalance and should I be adding Baking Soda with the salt? What does the baking soda do? If so is this just off the supermarket shelf Sodium Bicarbonate?

Thanks in advance.
