It is a great topic to bring up since, in my own thinking about my own grandmother comforting with food, I did see your point. Of course, I have the awareness that my own grandmother raised 6 kids in the Depression and food was such a luxury that it was the gift of choice and it will be left to our generation to break the habit of soothing with food. I did break the cycle with my own daughter who is an amazingly good eater and does all the stuff I wish my own mom had taught me. But old habits die hard especially when they taste good...ggg. And of course, the memories of good times associated with food, who wants to forget! Well, okay, the force-feeding of brussel sprouts is a memory I would love to leave behind. All in all though, eating is the addiction of choice by most Americans for sure and its legal!
The Master Cleanse gives us a break so we can reflect on our choices. This also involves exploring the changes we feel are necessary to maintain the footing we achieve with the cleanse. Now there is a sobering thought...ggg.
Since eating is necessary, unless you have adapted to a breathtarian lifestyle, we need to teach ourselves to control the quality and quantity of food we ingest so that we find balance in fueling ourselves so we can feel good instead of bad, be leaner instead of fatter.
I am right with you in wanting to kick that proverbial "cat in the bag"....gently of course! I would suggest biting the hand that feeds us, but at our age, it is us!!
So, since this is a fleeting stage, here is a link for some angermanagement online. You can find me in the corner...Im the one sipping lemonade...ggg
