I wouldn't worry to much on the organic syrup. It seems EVERYTHING now a days has some sort of toxins in it. Just do some calling to your health food stores and get a good quality pure mayple syrup that is formaldehyde free,Grade B.This place has it: http://www.southfacefarm.com/
If you think about it anyway your body is going to be getting rid of the toxins during the fast. I don't like to fuss to much over the organic thing. Most people are not even able to find organic foods locally.
As far as the weight goes. Every time I have done the fast I lose about 2lbs. a day. I am on day 10 of 14 right now and this morning I came in at 18lbs. lost, so I am close.
