I have easily 1,000 pet honey bees...sadly I do not have a queen bee so I can not keep the bees, but they come back daily to see what I will feed them next. They follow you around like a bunch of pets and they have accepted the dogs as "friendlies" and vice versa ---prior to making pets out of the bees---the dogs would grab and bite them to death---now they all are just friendly...
There so wasp, some nne honey bees and a hornet once in a while---but not 1 will sting---I can anciently kill a dozen of them by moving their food around and they take no offense.... "IF" you look way back in the beginning of this forum--long long ago...there was a fellow from Europe that explained bees are smarter than humans and he believed bees can get humans to work for them--etc. and I followed his advice about how to train "WASP" to leave the property and it worked 100% instantly and has lasted over 20 years and they told the hornets and they as well left.....the problem was i built a new house right in hornet country---they were everywhere and wasp covered the ends of each building and it was a nightmare of being stung when you were outside and the european guy explained what to do...and as crazy as it sounded an an american---it worked.
All these years later I have a keen interest in bee venom and have been playing with the bees and amazed how fast they become friendly and come from far away to see what you will feed them next.
SALT
I figure salt could be rare to bees, but since I have salt blocks out for cows---maybe no so much for these bees---but I put a cracker out that was covered with salt crystals and the bees jumped right on it and licked all the salt clean.
BEES EAT and LICK and they will literally lick buckets so clean---they look new.
BEES are GLUTTONS, they work none stop collecting food..
They use herbs to protect their hives and surely they do LOVE SALT.
