That sounds like the result of histamine. Your blood histamine levels are probably high which sensitizes your body to allergens. This happens with hayfever where antihistamines are usually used. That does not really solve it because the cause of the high histamine is not addressed. High histamine levels can also cause sleep disturbances in some cases because it is a brain stimulant which can prevent sleep in some people. It is not as simple as that but it can be a problem in some cases.
What causes the high histamine is most likely what I prefer to call Increased Digestive Permeability but is commonly called "Leaky Gut" a term which I dislike because the gut is leaky by it's nature and it is only when the normal permeability increases that problems are caused. The most recent research that I am aware of is by Daniel Vipond where he proposes that the cause of the IDP is a pathogenic infection of the digestive system. It's a very long paper I warn you lol. I had worked this out just after he started his research for his PhD which was funded by an ME charity. I worked out that pathogens cause IDP in January 2014 and he started his PhD studies in late 2013, around September I would imagine.
A warning, do not bother with guides on the internet claiming that they will solve "Leaky Gut" because they will not because none that I have seen and I have seen an awful lot, even begin to destroy the pathogenic infection(s). They are always protected by a biofilm which makes them extremely resistant to antimicrobials. It is pointless taking anything without removing their biofilm because they will just adapt to the antimicrobial rendering it useless!
