.. DR. J VERNON McGEE is presiding with one of his last visits to our church before his sickness and end of his life. I plead with the powers that be, this entire video be left here for the world and lovers of this great man of God to see and hear. It is God inspired if ever a message was. Thanks for listening.

This old man picked me up hitch hiking about 35 years ago in the Trinity Alps of CA. He told me that he normally wouldn't pick up "hippays" but God told him to give me a ride, but he didn't want to. Dr. McGee didn't have much patience with me or my lack of hygeine and he preached for 3 hours. He had a captive audience and he let me have it! I was as miserable a sinner there ever was that day, I'll tell you. I squirmed and sweated for three hours, and when he let me out, I was arrested for hitch hiking, and I thanked that cop for rescuing me from that crazy old preacher!
I got home and heard him on the radio, and remembering that he said that he had a "little radio ministry" I wrote him and tucked in $5.
Now I'm the old man preaching at the hitch hikers, and I'm a lot like the old preacher; he rubbed off on me.
Thank you, brother. I don't like Scofield, and I keep the Sabbath. There I part ways with the very good preacher. But there still is no other Bible study that I recommend, he is so spot on.

Man, I was starving, and he bought this huge jar of olives from a farm stand, and he'd let me have like evey tenth olive, and he'd debate giving me one because I was young and strong and jobless, and by the time I'd get another olive, he'd shove about 10 more Proverbs down my throat. :)
He didn't like "hippays"! :)

Before I get to you Anna just gotta say...well, looks like everybody's said it "Vernon is AWESOME"
Just wanted to say to you Anna, I was an atheist into my early 50's until I came across an SDA pastor's lecture series "Total Onslaught" by Walter Veith. God bless your church!

I don't know if this story is true or not - but it should be.

I find that interesting but I wouldn't have liked to be looked down on and I wouldn't have been happy with a disdainful look at my clothes. Jesus Christ is gracious and very kind. Imagine if he spoke that way to the woman at the well or Mary magdalene. It is not very nice. He challenges hypocricy and even those who were not the lost sheep of the house of Israel, but he was Christ. The rest of us are dirty rotten sinners ourselves saved by grace. I can't see Paul doing it either. Such behaviour doesn't make it right to discard people for whom Christ died. Why should a minister even need to be told to help hippies. It should gave been in his heart already. I am saddened by this story actually. God made it right in the end but with a stubborn old man lacking compassion and grace. :-(

I love your testimony. Absolutely love all God does. He has let me pick up several folks through the years. (Sisters don't do that without my Father's leading).
Jesus Christ is faithful. 🕇🕇🕇

I homeschooled my kids. Dr McGee's radio show was part of our daily Bible study. One day my son, now grown, sent me a text. It was to thank me. He said he listened out of curiosity to hear him again. He said, "Mom, you heard past his country accent, and hoped his wisdom would take hold of our hearts. Well, now I get it. What a wise old man." I'm glad he came to appreciate him. Its still a joy to learn from Dr Vernon McGee.😊
