Thanks, I did contact the water board but they just say it's ok to drink. I don't pay the water board for my water, I don't have to, there are a lot of property's around here that get their water fed via farms. What happens is our water is fed through via a farm, the farm gets charged from the water company and then the farm charges us, only not anymore since they ploughed through the water pipe and loads of muck came through, a few years ago now. We just pay for the Septic tank to be emptied once a year.

Because the farm pulls on the water heavily now and again it causes the water pressure to drop drastically and then our water goes orange. The water board also causes it to go orange when they adjust the water pressure for the local village. We boil and filter the water and when it goes orange we drink Evian water. Some people just drink bottled water. We could drink bottled water all the time. The water board does check the water when we ask them to.

Someone told us we have iron pipes. The local town has old asbestos water pipes, the MP says it's safe to drink the water.

We do save a lot of money a year as we now have no water bill to pay except the septic tank which is 85.00. I have to do a lot of washing as a carer so I'm saving hugely. Obviously if we drank bottled water then the cost would go up a lot.
