It seems quite reasonable for you to consider adrenal fatigue (mild adrenal insufficiency).

Have you gotten any tests? You could consider the following:

blood pregnenolone. Preg is the grandmother of the steroid adrenal cortex hormones.

Directlabs.com has testing you can order since your mainstream doc almost certainly won't.

if you have some symptoms of "estrogen dominance" (low progesterone) a doctor may test prog but be sure to follow instructions if you are premenopausal.

You could do the 4x saliva cortisol test on a day that you are tired, not on a day you are amped up with stress. Some doctors prefer AM and PM blood cortisol, the latter done before lab closes.

You may not be weak enough to need cortisol testing. Pregnenolone is inexpensive unlike everything else, but it is a hormone so you'll want to respect its power.

Insurance doctors are essentially worthless for doing this type of testing, including endocrinologists. It is not covered so they'll tell you to just get more rest.

A friend and I have been there. Her life was substantially limited by AF and the endo treating thyroid did nothing for a decade. She finally went to a Functional Med doc who does not take insurance ( not tied by the balls by them). After followup testing she mostly needed 50-75mg pregnenolone, 5-7mg hydrocortisone, some prog cream and some downstream sex hormones due to being middle aged. They turned on the lights for her brain, especially in stressful situations. Some amino acids, Mg, etc helped too. There seemed to be a number of factors. She also did low dose Cutler protocol detox.

I had more modest needs so just take 10-20mg preg daily and a little DHEA a few times per week. Followup labs show I've been okay and I can feel the nice difference in "masculine feel" I deal with stressful days better. I also did detox and take some other supplements.

Some people just start with some adrenal cortex glandular to try to help the body to make more of those hormones. With anxiety I'd stay away from whole adrenal glandular for now.

Other supplements associated with adrenal cortex support: zinc, vitamin C, B5

Pls let us know what you find helpful. There seems to be such a need for information on this since mainstream doctors won't treat it.
