I too would be cautious about using castor oil. I do not know what type cataracts - did not know at the time there was more than one type so I did not ask the dr. He said I was in the beginning stages and surgery was a long way off for me. (Sorry doc, don't want that)

I am sure I will get a huge eyeroll from my ophthalmologist or a brush off from staff if I inquire. One would think they would be more forthcoming but I have to keep in mind they are just mainstream md's.
