Thanks for your reply.

If the "chelation" supplement was the primary reason for the symptoms I'd expect you to also include increased brain fog, anxiety or irritability or depression, reduced intellectual ability, maybe even strange tingly sensation in the forehead or brain from mobilzed mercury, etc.

No, I didn't have any of that.

My scalp itches slightly all the time, for  years now, if I haven't used soap or shampoo in it for more than 36 hours. I attribute that to dandruff which I suppose is a kind of shedding of toxins through the skin, but I never thought of it as heavy metal toxicity.

Poor sleep, fatigue, strange heart symptoms that don't show up on ER doc's tests all fit metals detox, especially too much for your antioxidant defenses.

The strange heart symptoms are there even when I am not chelating. Its been 7 years since it began. I tried the chelation only this month for the first time in my life.

I would not stir up metals while doing the cleanses, etc. I chose Cutler protocol heavy metal detox so did not use cilantro. I took plenty of vitamin C, E selenium when kicking up metals.

I'm starting selenium now.

Re heart symptoms. Did the doctors do a blood test--CMP? If so were your sodium and potassium okay?

No they didn't. I think I should ask them to do this. They only did EKGs, and last time, an echo. I also have very thin limbs and scoliosis, so asked for the echo to rule out a connective tissue disorder. It all came out normal.

Do you take a multivitamin with minerals?

I take vitamin d, b12, iodine, magnesium. Thinking of beginning selenium and zinc and a bcomplex.

Would you tolerate some fruits and vegetables high in potassium? Do you add some salt to your food? Maybe some Gatorade or similar would be interesting to try.

Yes, never had a problem with any fruits and vegetables. I like oranges a lot. I use a liberal amount of himalayan pink salt in food. I never tried Gatorade because caffeine really overstimulates me. It's summer and at times I feel dehydrated so I make an electrolyte drink with 2 cups of orange juice, 2 cups of water, 1-2 teaspoons of honey, and half a teaspoon of pink salt. Or somewhere around that. It feels really good.

Usually if I haven't slept 7 hours at night I have these mild chest pains the next day. A friend suggested getting enough electrolytes and that seemed to reduce it, but I still had them. So I should keep a watch on the relationship of these pains to the electrolyte levels in my body.

I assume you did not see any blood in urine as a result of passing stones. Any history of UTI?

No blood in urine. No history of UTI. I've had it tested twice in the last 10 years because I always tend to urinate a bit more frequently than normal, and need to wake up once in the night for this. I'm 33 and I'v had this since I was 21, and the doctors felt that at least when you're young you needn't wake up in the night to urinate. They said there's no UTI but the muscles of my bladder and urethra are more tense and excitable than normal, and that's just part of a larger stress pattern, or perhaps just idiopathic and they can't do anything for that.

My cold is almost gone now and I'll resume the chelation recipe for another week to finish the suggested duration. Will also think more about chelation and electrolyte levels and selenium. Thanks for your thoughts !
