It is called Excimer laser but it is better described with light therapy. I think it is UVB narrowband light.
The medical assistant said that the intensity they used in the study was too strong but that it also depends on the device.
She will be increasing the intensity every 2 sessions by 10%. The treatment is twice a week.
This is the study: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2352647515000179
If you google Excimer laser you will find that it works excellent for many skin conditions and maybe you find theories about how it works. I am not very hopeful because I got cheilitis from Accutane. So my cells are generally dehydrated.
I don't think that the sebaceous glands will disappear since it is only light. It will not burn the skin.
She didnt tell me to remove the dead skin before the session but she told me not to use any moisturizer with the explanation that they dry out the skin even more.
