Will you explain to me what is your opinion of what is a word from the Lord...or rather the difference between someone saying they heard from the Lord and sharing it with others and our Pastors writing a sermon which the Lord inspired them to write and then giving a sermon on that? Their sermons are based on scripture and yet there is often wisdom shared on how it applies to us today. I'm not talking about date setting type of info or trips to heaven. Just plain wisdom of what the Lord has put on their hearts. I realize some of the things said by people are quite wild to visualize and some may be from vivid imaginations or whatever, but I personally would be afraid to say that God did not speak to someone unless it's proven to not be biblical or it does not come true. That being said, we know there is much spoken that is not true. Wouldn't it be wiser to just hear someone out and disprove if need be with scripture or keep quiet in case you can't disprove, in fear of saying something of God is a lie?

Or are you just dead set that God does not speak to people anymore?
