Hi! Thanks for all the posts and shared experiences. I've spent a lot of my time fasting so far reading everyone's posts!
I'm on day 21 of my water fast, on about day 13 I started to experience what looks to be psoriasis, maybe eczema, which is not normal for me. I'd get a patch of dry skin or two in the winter and treat it with lotion and it'd clear up. But nothing like this.
Now my shins, ankles, shoulders to elbows, lower back and wrists are all covered in this rash. It's only slightly improved in a couple areas to this point.
A quote from lifescript says:
"Thought to be caused by an overactive immune system, the skin of Psoriasis sufferers is in overdrive – it matures faster but isn’t shed and, instead, builds up. This, plus inflammation, are telltale Psoriasis signs. "
I know fasting to increase the immune function, so my questions are:
Is this my body working with a latent issue?
Do I need to fast until it is fully cleared? (my max is 30 days as I need time to transition before I leave the country for a month)
Any experience on gut permeability length of healing time, as I think all of my issues most likely tie back to this.
Aside from this rash, my fast has been fairly easy with one nagging discomfort, slight pain on my lift side/lower back area. I'm assuming this is my kidney working through maybe years of being a semi-regular drinker? I experienced this once over a longer detox period when I didn't realize I was actually detoxing from being on a raw diet. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated as well!
Thanks!
