How effective is homeopathy in treating digestive disorders?


I have got chronic abdominal pain and diarrhea. I believe these symptoms were brought on by my Tetracycline treatment for acne. I took this medication for around 2 years. My parents also took tetracycline for 5 - 6 years with no trouble. The doctor says that I am hypochondriac.
The family doctor advised me to include more fiber in my diet. He told me that I have got IBS and there was nothing much that he could do to help me out. This caused me to have panic attacks multiple times and I ended up in the psych ward of my local hospital. I came to hear that homeopathy is best for treating such issues. Does anyone think this has a good chance of helping me out?
