Pick up alligator clips in the electrical parts section of any hardware store.

As far as the silver electrodes are concerned, you will get more consistent results from silver electrodes that are not subject to easy bending, such as wire. You need consistent spacing of electrodes from top to bottom of about 1- 1 1/4 inches. Electrodes that bend easily that can be an inch apart at the top but two at the bottom will result in electrodes that develop hot spots at the nearest points of separation & will wear out sooner, you want to keep this in mind if you are making this stuff by the gallon.
