I haven't tried oral anti-fungals (although I was contemplating it). Several years ago I did a scalp biopsy and it showed only "regular" skin bacteria (propionibacterium acnes). Also, I had a dramatic response to Doxycycline (scalp 100% clear almost overnight), it was very similar with Isotretinoin. But, unfortunately, this disease ALWAYS comes back, ALWAYS.
