So I have Candida

Its oral thrush they tell me. I wonder how long I’ve had this yeast overgrowth for…? I’m guessing a long time. I only became more proactive about this once I started to spit lots of mucus and experience frog in throat-like symptoms.

I was prescribed Nystatin. I took double the initial dosage because the symptoms never went away. A week later I started to get scary heart palpitations and tightness in my chest. I think the nystatin caused this. Maybe it’s it working killing the candida and that was the side effect – I don’t know.

I must admit it has done something, I no longer have that horrible sensation in my throat. However I still have lots of mucus in my spit along with a white tongue.

I’m looking to take a stronger anti-fungal medicine like fluconazole. Hopefully getting rid of my candida overgrowth will help with my EC which I’ve had for 16years.
