Well you asked me what are T-rex's good for, so I pointed out...what are crocodiles good for. Nothing as far as I can tell, but I'm sure they do have a purpose whether I can see or know what it is. Does every thing created have to have a greater good? Can't God just create things for the splendor of the experience? For His glory?

I don't know about experiencing hell, but maybe something in the middle. Something to look forward to vs something you don't look forward to. I know a lot of people who would be very happy to just live forever here on earth, just the way it is. Not me. If Jesus promised me better. I would prefer better, wouldn't you?
