I thought I better clarify this statement before someone else comes in to correct me. I said "This person must have never read the verse that tells us that the work of ministers is to equip the lay people (the saints) for the work of the ministry." The reason I said "lay people" instead of "saints" is because there are a lot of people who do not know that the word "saints" is referring to all Christians who are saved. Many still think that in order to be called a "saint" a person has to be canonized as such by the Catholic church.

So the verse is not really referring to just lay people, but to all of God's people. I'll leave the passage for people to examine:

"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:" Ephesians 4:11-12 King James Version

Also, wouldn't it be something if we all had to get a PhD in order to obey the Great Commission? There would need to be a much bigger hell for sure!
