Well to obey, one must fear the Lord first. Fear is knowledge of who and what God is and respecting His authority.

Satan whispers in people's ears and they jump through hoops thinking they are doing god's work.

Psalm 111:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments; His praise endures forever.

2 Chronicles 19:9
Then he charged them saying, "Thus you shall do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully and wholeheartedly.
