The Bentonite and Psyllium have *never* been part of the MC and very often they will pug you up even worse because of their absortive nature and tendency to dehydrate. This I can attest to this personally.
Again because of their highly absortive nature they are very likely to suck out what little nutrients you are getting from the lemonade. One of the main ways the MC works is by giving your digestive system a rest and when you add all that bulk fiber this will crank up the peristaltic action in your colon thus interfering with the MC. Andreas Moritz also warns about doing the Bentonite (volcanic clay) while fasting cause there's a good possibility that it can become plaster like and really plug the system up.

The BPs can be done at anytime while eating regular.
Below is a repost from one of my previous posts regarding the origination of adding the BPs to the MC aka "Ultimate Cleanse"
The guy who came up with this so called "Ultimate Cleanse" had very little understanding of how the BPs work. First he tells you to mix the BP with the lemonade. Because of the highly absorbtive nature of the B and the P it must be taken either one hour before or after any nutrition . Since the Lemonade is >all< your nutrtition and your cleansing agaent on the MC you totally negate it by mixing it with the BP. The other crucial mistake that the originator makes is the he does not tell you that you must drink >lots< of water which is the absolute "must do" when doing the BPs for them to work properly. All of this point to this persons lack of understanding thus making the UC not a very well though out plan at all.
Now there's the isue of how MC works by giving your digestive system a rest. When you add all this bulk fiber your system has to crank up the persitaltic action to push that fiber out thus using up energy that your body will otherwise use for cleansing and healing. Then there the admonishment from Andreas Moritz that the Bentonite (volcanic clay) can become plaster like in an empty system and really gum up the works then.
On a note of personal experience I did try the BPs on one of my long MCs just to see what all the hoopla was about. I even did it the right way like it's outlined in ptrees famous post also on the FAQs. One, it constipated me and 2 it made me feel weak and all bloated. One of the unique and most pleasant aspects of the MC is that light and empty feeling one gets from the MC. No BPs on the MC for me thank you. The BPs can be done at anytime while eating regular and that is how I have done them, no problemo.
Bottom line from personal experience common sense etc and also having read quite a few account of folks plugin up their system doing the BPs on the MC aaaaand with one particular account of someone winding up in the hospital from over doing the BPs on the MC I highly recomend that folks do the BPs while eating regular and not to add anything to the MC if they want to get the most and best cleansing the MC was designed to do.
If anyone is still hellbent on doing the BPs on the MC I recommend that you read ptrees famous post in the FAQs to learn how to do them correctly.
