I've been trying this method since last Friday(Dec 8) and I get the same problem with dry lips when waking up in the morning. I've been considering buying a humidifier but in the mean time i'm just using aquaphor. Sometimes i wake up in the middle of the night and if i remember I apply some aquaphor then go back to sleep. To make it easier i keep it next to my nightstand.
