I don't know if the poster who wrote this older post will see your message, but I think he was referring either to vitamin supplements or the drug Accutane (a chemical form of fake vitamin A). Also, one can have the opposite problem of not being able to absorb vitamin A which creates a deficiency that doesn't show up in a standard blood test. Both too much and too little vitamin A cause the same symptoms.
