It took me about 4 months, but back then, I did Iodine off and on, half-gram doses of potassium iodide, about every 3-4 days with a rest inbetween while I flooded my body with fluids, including a lot of heavily-hopped beer. Yes, I drank alot !! But the heavily hopped beer had obviously lots of sulfur compounds, my theory was that the Iodine would liberate the heavy metals, mercury, lead, arsenic, etc. from my body tissue compartments, and then the sulfhydryl groups of the hops constituents would bind with the metals to enable them to flush out. Anymore though, I don't drink at all, alcohol repulses me now. While I hated those pimples, I told myself it was a good thing that it was happening, and eventually it went away. I once read where about 20% of the body's supply of Iodine is contained in the skin, in a person who has enough iodine. According to at least one MD who has studied this topic extensively, the thyroid only contains about 50 mg of iodine, max. good luck
