Grizz, I followed your instructions to the letter - I have hashi's so I was extra careful and very slowly increased to 3mg probably over a 4 - 6 month period. The detox when it came was so severe I was totally unable to function as was/is chewy. I will review increasing Iodine at a later date, however spending 2 out of every 3 days in bed due to horrendous throbbing and tingling from head to foot and a pulse of 120 plus, extreme anxiety, and periods of fatigue so debilitating that I could not stand up for 3 months is not my idea of how to improve my health. You should accept that some people have this kind of reaction and it is wrong of you in my opinion to try and tell them to increase/continue when they are at the limit of their endurance. Some of us must work, in my case I had to leave work and I am now unemployable due to my age and medical history so I am also living on fxxkall. I did not have cancer, breast or uterus problems, or any obvious adrenal issues which I now have. Your protocol does not work for everyone, yes if I had a terminal illness and nothing to lose maybe, but I have almost destroyed my life with this. And when I came on the forum looking for help earlier this year I had a load of abuse accusing me of "blaming" iodine, being magnesium deficient, not taking enough salt etc etc. I am a trained naturopath and spent the last few years improving my health successfully with good diet and supplements so I found it very insulting to be treated like that as if I was a total idiot and didn't know what I was doing, but now I am not even back to square 1, I am at minus 100 square 1. I only come on this forum now to try and help people like chewy who are being urged to keep taking higher doses. She obviously can't cope with what it has triggered and is very scared as I was. For people with a hidden high toxic load (that they may not be aware of) Iodine starts a detox that can be stopped, I know I am living with it.
