On my wonderful vacation to Cuba, I ate well. I ate as much fruit and veggies that I normally would at home. I didn't eat meat which was easy.
However, I realized how much I need my nuts & seeds! Obviously, you can't bring food into a foreign country, so I didn't have any.
Within a couple days, I already felt like I was lacking protein and fat. And beans didn't do it for me. It actually helped me realize that many people try go vegan or vegetarian and go into old school thinking - eat lots of beans and soy. Well, I can tell you, nuts & seeds are NOT the same...at all!
The other interesting thing was I ate bread and cheese, but I wasn't overeating. I gained 10 lbs in one week! I ate maybe 600 calories a day of bread, butter and cheese. I was still well under 2000 calories a day, which is recommended for a woman. And I was walking the beach 2 hours a day, and 1 hour snorkeling!
10 lbs is worth 35,000 calories (1 lbs = 3,500 calories). Let's forget the bread and butter, and just assume I gained all that weight from cheese. 1 serving of cheese is 371 calories.
35,000 calories over 7 days is 94 servings- that's 13 servings a day! haha
I did NOT eat that much :)
Much of that weight gain was bloating, swelling and accumulated lymph because wheat and dairy are not ideal foods for me. (The good news was the wheat was not GMO, and the dairy was non-pasteurized.)
I did lose fat though. When we got back, I could pinch 2" on my tummy. It was actually cool to see my body use it up. The last 2 days, in the morning it had shrunk down, and then today, it's just a teeny 1/4" of fat there.
When your nutrition is up, like mine is, your body knows what fat is not supposed to be there.
So if you want to lose weight, ask yourself, "How much of it is just bloating, and extra lymph?"
A couple teeny changes in your diet, could make your body SO much happier, and make you lose 10 lbs without even trying :)
Over the last four years, I've had my share of skeptics that think detox is fake. They won't even try because they need some sort of study to prove it's real.
But I've had the strangest experiences happen. Skeptics often disappear from my life only to re-appear because something wonderful happened to them.
They detoxed accidentally, and now want more information.
1. They get the flu, can't eat for a couple weeks, lose 10 lbs. After, they get their strength back, they look younger and feel SO much better. What happened?
They were forced to fast. Their body dumped toxins from fat cells, had energy to repair tissue and skin, and their lymph wasn't filled with fat from a standard diet, so it moved better. It was detox!
2. They go on vacation for 2 weeks, walk on a beach everyday and swim in the ocean. They feel like a million bucks. They come back to their real life, and feel terrible again. What happened?
During their vacation, they spent most of their time outside in fresh air (full of negative ions.)
They walked barefoot for the first time that year. Being in contact with the ground allows the body to expel positive electrons, while flooding it with negative.
This brings down inflammation throughout every system, making a person feel SO much better, and look better too! The negative ions thin the blood, and allows it to carry more oxygen. Of course you feel better.
The lymph thins, so it moves through the body and out much better. Swimming in seawater is highly conductive, plus the salt starts pulling on toxins. Sunshine raises their low vitamin D too.
They get back to their regular life, surrounded by electro-magnetic frequencies (positive charges), with closed windows, breathing in their own carbon dioxide, and AC or heated air (also positive charges).
On vacation, they detoxed. At home, they started accumulating positive charges again.
3. The skeptic goes on a diet and exercise program to lose weight. Every diet asks you to drop something- sugar, salt, cheese, gluten, junk food...something. These foods have no negative charges.
Inorganic minerals are changed into negative charges in plants through photosynthesis. Eating more raw fruit and veggies floods the body with these charges that neutralize positive charged radiation, inorganic minerals, metabolic waste, pharmaceuticals ect. The body starts dumping so much stored junk, and they feel so much better.
Losing 10 pounds of stored toxins in fat relieves the body of an incredible burden. When those cells are emptied and expelled, the person feels lighter!
Plus the exercise increases their oxygen, giving them even more energy. This is all detox!
In these cases, the skeptic knows they did something right because they look and feel great. They want more!
The deeper you detox, the more addictive it becomes, because the results just get more spectacular!
We all instinctively KNOW how to detox, we just need our own journey to start.
