Were other iron-related tests consistent with low iron?

Do you have symptoms consistent with it?

Do you have symptoms associated with low thyroid?

Do you have gut problems similar to what is described in the article above?

One contributing factor to inflammation mentioned in the article is heavy metals. There is a theory that since iron is a heavy metal, the body tries to keep iron levels on the low side when there is a HM problem.

Of course mood/psych problems are associated with HMs, but people with a more than mild HM problem will have a much longer list of issues than you describe. The list posted by this member of a detox group is a good example of what a middle aged female might experience.

Did the doctor also test homocysteine?

Have you tried a combo of supplements that can take the edge off of anxiety--magnesium glycinate and or Epsom Salt, GABA, etc?

If you are middle aged, have you had an adrenal and sex hormone panel--progesterone, pregnenolone, etc?
