Sorry but I can't admit to such a thing. I had already been through this very thing with my Assemblies of God friends. We discussed this very carefully and at a pace where no one was overwhelmed or confused by it. We were all able to discover most of it on our own by simple and gentle pointing out of some things in the way a friend would approach another friend. Not to embarrass anyone or confuse them. However, in the forum when a new person comes on...they are not a friend who trusts you yet. There is no reason to believe you. They just think you want to disagree or offend them. Let people discover it on their own, so they can "own" it. No one wants to feel they were forced into believing something just because someone on the internet said to.

I have never agreed fully with Benny Hinn, however he has had some inspiring moments, which is why some people listen to his preaching. I guess I should burn his book "Good Morning Holy Spirit"? If that's the case then we should burn all writings by John Calvin since he believed in murdering heretics who didn't believe in the Trinity. Trapper would be toast right now. What I can thank you for is my disdain for gung-ho calvinists, which I didn't have before and now have to repent from.

I'm not saying that Sam should not have been eventually shown other things about Hinn. It's just he was new to the forum and people who mistakenly think that people like Hinn represent a correct way of christianity are not going to understand why you are telling him he is wrong. Just confused and maybe hurt or embarrassed for ever posting that they liked him. Especially when we teach about love and loving our enemies.

Just like Tansey was saying that she didn't realize that christians were not in agreement was a shock to her. She had no idea. She probably thought she was walking into a group of unified lovers of God, not realizing there were other attachments that gum up the works. If you had lambasted her with your ideas right off the bat, would she have left immediately? I don't know, we would have to ask her. A person has a right to be where they are in their faith until the right info can be presented in a manner that teaches in a loving and respectful way and does not hammer it forcibly. However, we are dealing with people we know nothing about. When they are new and we don't know where they stand with the Lord, or how much or how little truth they have, I would think we should be careful on how we introduce them to what we have learned. It takes great courage for someone to speak up about their thoughts on Christ, especially if they are uncertain about things.

Now having said all of that, I did this to explain my thoughts on how it should be done. This is my way of doing it. Your way is your way.

The temptation: The problem with deleting your user name is the lack of history you will have.
