I have tried Water Fasting multiple times now. each time completely unsuccessful. The longest I have made it so far is an hour shy of 3 days.
I want to do this for my health, and for weight loss purposes.
I am pre-diabetic, roughly 150 lbs. overweight, I have asthma, and bad knees, and can't eat fast food, or most restaurant foods as they make me feel ill. I have unsuccessfully tried diet and exercise.
Note: When I say that I tried, I really don't mean I tried for a week and gave up. (Only clarifying because it's a conclusion even my doctor seems to love to jump to)
I exercised 5-7 days a week from November, 22nd 2016 to June 18th 2017. I was eating a low carb, high protein diet, with lots of veggies. I was doing both cardio - in the form of bicycling, and strength training at the gym. I finally got so discouraged I gave up, because in all that time I only lost 10 lbs. and 1 pants size. Honestly, how is it possible that someone my size doesn't shrink more than that over that length of time??
I was dedicated to making this happen, and there was nothing. Then I went to the doctor to try to find out and he tells me I'm pre-diabetic. And that I should "Stop eating Crap" Which is stupid, because I don't eat crap. I don't drink soda. My downfall is carbs. But I had already given those up. So I am not understanding the issue. I know in part it is my PCOS, (Which also results in the pre-diabetic diagnoses I am sure.)
I am not saying this as a pity me deal. truly. Mostly, I just wanna know what my problem is. I am restarting a fast today. Beginning with a liquid fast, then moving to a water fast. I think mostly I just need some encouragement. It seems when it comes to food, I can control how much I eat, except when I am trying to fast. I thought I was in the clear once I passed day 2 last time. But then I binged. I am just at a loss of what else I can do. Fasting seems like maybe it's the only thing that can/will help me at this point.
Does anyone have any input on this? (Please note: I have had my thyroid checked it is not an issue) No one seems to have any answers for me, and when I so much as mention fasting everyone I know freaks out like I'm trying to kill myself..
