Hello again, I hope everyone had a good fourth; if that's not your thing, hopefully it was a good Tuesday.
So let's get right into this update. Ivermectin will only give you awesome results briefly. I was super excited because some of the more annoying symptoms died down drastically. Namely all of the invisible things crawling all over my face, mouth, and outside of my nose pretty much stopped. This is because Ivermectin specifically targets the larvae, making them susceptible to attack from the immune system. You can read about it here: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/16/health/16global.html
I went to the doctor.
This was another mistake in a long line of many. A costly mistake that hit my wallet so hard the faux leather fell off.
The exam consisted of looking in my nose with an otoscope, and declaring it to be worm free.
I asked for an endoscope, the short answer was no. But if they are in your sinuses, how can you see up there without and endoscope?
The response I got regarding my eyes? It's all very tight in there and they wouldn't really be able to move around. I guess that's why it hurt when they were doing laps then.
Also, the eyes are a direct window into the brain so you'd be having real problems if they were in there. And now we know where the headaches and confusion and mis-constructed sentences were coming from.
Let's run some tests to be sure though. HOT DAMN! I'm great at test taking! Only not this time.
Several hundred dollars in tests later because God forbid anyone take your word for it, (you're just an ignorant lay person after all) SURPRISE! They all came back negative, (something they do 85% of the time). The word of the day here is, say it with me, placating. At least this time I wasn't being threatened with commitment against my will. That still creeps me the heck out.
Lesson: The folks on Curezone have stated this time and time again, and I failed to listen. Do yourself a favor, save the money. Unless you have insurance, in which case knock yourself out. Be prepared to be met with disbelief and sarcasm. Negative test results and a lot of wasted time that you can't get back.
So I got all pissed off in my misery, and ordered the Albendazole. Keep in mind were are talking about three weeks here. When UPS sent me this awesome e-mail telling me that my shipment was undeliverable, this pretty much convinced me that the universe was out to get me.
After about a week of feeling sorry for myself, I ordered the Albendazole again and made sure I inserted some very specific instructions about my address.
Now I should mention that during all of this I developed adult glue ear, and a pretty severe ear infection. An ear infection that I went to the ER for. They gave me Antibiotics and corticosteroids.
How on earth did you get glue ear? I'm glad you asked. Neti Pots are great tools, truly. Until you put them in the hands of a deranged madman (that would be me). There exists some really bad advice about pushing Neti water into your middle ear using the vaslava maneuver. I will not be detailing how to do this because it will mess you up. DON'T do it!
Lesson: The Neti pot trick was a tremendous mistake, all it did was introduce the worms and some gnarly bacteria into my middle ear, which has made me pretty much deaf for a good month and a half. The other takeaway here: your immune system is necessary in this battle. Corticosteroids will suppress your immune system. DO NOT TAKE THEM! I promise you, you will regret the decision.
Now for the good news, the Albendazole under the brand name, Valbazen for sheep and cattle, did show up the second time around.
Before I get too far here, you should know that at this point I am extremely desperate, I have exhausted what I feel are every avenue available to me including an infectious disease specialist who refused to even see me.
Albendazole is serious medication and can have very severe side effects. I am not a medical doctor, and I did some of what I am about to tell you, not exactly sure what the result would be. This is never a good idea, and can result in tragedy. I am sharing this for mainly educational purposes with the sincere hope that it generates logical and intelligent discussion. It's about learning here.
The regimen that I am following can be found here: //www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1586882
This is ICU's protocol page and so far it is working. I have made a few minor changes.
I dropped the antihistamines. The reason that I did so is mainly because histamine allows white blood cells to penetrate blood vessels to move to the site of an infection or injury. You can read about that here: http://www.news-medical.net/health/What-Does-Histamine-Do.aspx
With the aforementioned knowledge of Ivermectin and how it works, I feel it makes sense to do this.
I am also consuming approximately 40g of fat with the Ivermectin as well. Read about it here: https://www.drugs.com/dosage/ivermectin.html Scroll down to "Other Comments"
Now for the somewhat reckless addition to my program. I got the Neti Pot back out, and made a simple saline solution.
Please use your Neti Pot with sterilized water. It feels like this should be common sense, but I was using it with plain tap water before I knew any better. Then I saw the following: http://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2011/12/19/143960631/second-neti-pot-death-from-amoeba-prompts-tap-water-warning
In addition to the saline solution I added 1.5mg of Albendazole Suspension. I also did the vaslava push into my middle ear. So far it seems to have helped. I'm not feeling things crawl in my nose and my ears drained for the most part and I can hear much better than I could. So hopefully win?
The whole situation seems to be getting under control, today is the second day into the Albendazole treatment, and already the severe bloat in my stomach is gone, and I had two real bowel movements on my own without having to interfere to get the ball rolling. It is really sad because if I had been out of the country they would have taken one look at my symptoms, and my mid riff that was three times it's normal size and started treating this six months ago. I thought I was getting fat at first, I mean seriously my damn pants quit fitting, and I've worn the same size for the last TEN years!
I would really like to thank everyone at Curezone, especially those that were brave enough to try veterinary medicines, and tell about it. I have not met any of you, or even talked to most of you, but reading about your stories and struggles has made me feel almost like I know you. That feeling of support has been invaluable in keeping me from giving up and getting completely lost in this.
To everyone who took the time to respond to this thread, Thank You so much, I honestly never expected you to. It really means a lot when someone else gives a damn. Especially when people who should don't.
I will post back when I find out how this all turns out, hopefully to say the evil has gone back to whence it came. The next step is an old priest and a young priest.
