This is EXACTLY what my lips have looked like for 2 YEARS. I had braces for 8 months, got them off, wore the clear retainers 24/7 for months and started getting this issue. I have dieted for candida, so much difkican, nystatin, oil pulling, exfoliating, supplements, probiotics, gluten free, dairy free, no alcohol, no sugar, I've tried it ALL. even just normal chap stick. I do have sloughing of the white areas and my lips always look wrinkled. Yes, water makes them look weird. Acid and alcohol make them hurt, burn, then peel. I used to be a trumpet player and Even then I NEVER had issues like this. It's insane and severely ruining my self confidence. It's painful to deal with and painful to experience in general. Someone help :(
