I would like to add to the discussion on fibroids. My daughter just found out that she has some small ones. She just turned 40, has two children (6 & 9)who she nursed (each child) for two years. Her symptoms were that she had very very heavy painful periods too close together, and dry painful intercourse. I am researching a cure, and this is what we decided. Fibroids are caused by adrenal exhaustion. Since adrenals produce progesterone this causes a hormonal imbalance. The fibroids grow when the estrogen is higher than it needs to be and progesterone is lower that it should be. So I reasoned that she should support her adrenals by getting to be early, getting up early, taking vitamin C, taking nettles and any other herbs that support healthy adrenals. Next she needs to increase her progesterone by rubbing very small amounts (only enough to get rid of fibroid symptoms listed above) of bio-identical progesterone cream into the skin on days 6 -28 of her cycle. She also needs to increase her ability to produce progesterone by eating or taking supplements of omega 3s (cod liver oil or salmon oil or flax seed oil) & B vitamin complex. She also needs to drink 1/2 her body weight in ounces of clean water daily. The most important nutrient that she needs to balance her hormones is magnesium. She needs to take easily absorbed "Cramp Defense" 2 capsules 3 times a day. Last thing is to take plenty of vitamin D and increase Iodine by eating seaweed or a supplement. She has agreed to to this and she is already starting to feel her energy return as her adrenals heal and her periods less painful with normal blood flow. Women should do everything possible to have healthy female organs! I did all this before I went through menopause to help with my progesterone decline then added bio-identical estrogen when I went into menopause. This regime solved all of my hormone balance problems.
