Sugar is NOT high glycemic, it is actually medium because it is NOT pure glucose. The glycemic index is based on glucose which rate 100, Sugar is only 50. But don't forget to mix the high glycemic foods with low glycemic foods to couter balance the effect of the increased blood sugar. try mixing fiber in the diet.
