Typically someone might have salt in most of the water they drink, so it would be taken throughout the day. Iodide is usually one dose.

Or, if you meant whether to use salted water when using either Lugol's or iodide, the answer is yes, it's good to use it with either form of supplementation. Salt needs can vary and are generally highest during detox, which comes from either Lugol's or iodide.

Currently, after years on Iodine and iodide, I don't feel any detox and don't drink salted water. I am generous with salt on my food, though.
