When I fasted 18 days, I never got depressed, I did however get really happy, because I was going in the right direction, and finally felt in control of my eating. Hopefully someone can give you some answers on the depression.
Maybe it's a withdrawal thing going on, and with withdrawals come a feeling of Depression sometimes.
