This is a really interesting post that actually I had looked into before. The theory is that if you suffered some form of trauma and became a victim as a child or adolescent, if you reached forty years old and had not received the right kind of therapy to get over the said event then you were unlikely to get over it for the rest of your life even if you embarked on therapy late in life.
