Maybe try something that works inside your body like MSM. It's a sulfur that many people are missing in their diets. I started using it after a really bad fall that broke my arm and ribs and hurt my hip. My broken arm was repaired and my ribs healed but the hip kept nagging me afterwards. I use to do espom salt baths on a regular basis but could not do them because of the fall. So either one is helpful.
