I think what cured patients' EC in the past was tricyclic antidepressants, which Prozac is not. The drugs prescribed today do not have as many side effects as tricyclic antidepressants or that's why they're prescribed. I think because tricyclic antidepressants have so many side effects, they interfere with other body processes. I don't really know if there's a difference between antidepressants and antianxiety drugs, but the people with EC were cured while using tricyclic antidepressants.
