fiat currency is backed by the military force of its issuer, bitcoin is backed by the gold standard or market value of it.

gold and bitcoin can be used in trade and barter of the digital economy.

most would not choose to be locked in a cage from lawful government force over giving the encryption key to their bitcoins.
