I realize this post is old but still came up on my search. I have been extremely diligent about keeping my body pH level alkaline. Because I too believed the alkaline pH will fight off viruses naturally...I have been testing my pH daily for over a year now it runs between 7.25 and 7.5 sometimes slightly higher (what I have read is the healthy range for saliva/urine pH). These values are true 90% of the time for me. The other 10% it can be lower which I then adjust to bring it back. I just now ended up getting Shingles regardless. I am now on an antiviral drug and some nerve med to keep the pain down. I am not saying anything positive or negative about any advise any place, just saying what I have been doing and I still got it. Alkaline pH wasn't my magic cure/prevention for this virus now
