I think for root canals many companies are making you wait until 6 mos to 1 year after you purchased insurance. Probably because consumers bought the insurance and had dental work done then dropped it. Just my guess. I bought United Commercial Travelers and they made us have a waiting period. It was the best deal out there that was not limited to in network.
