It bothers my eyes to look at the new format for some reason. It does have a working search engine and the old one no longer does for some reason. So I switch over to the new one if I want to search for something. Plus when the threads get too long you can't tell who you are replying to. I kept wondering why people kept responding to me as though I was talking to them and not someone else. lol It's all in proper order on the old format. However I think the new format helps keep the thread visible for use with mobile devises. But I don't even use the new for that.
