Hi, my family and I just switched to an all Organic diet about 5 to 6 months ago. We did it cold turkey by giving away every bit of food in the house and buying organic. For the first 3 weeks or so we got pretty sick and sluggish. Now things are much better than that. We have been fighting to get the right things in our diet now. It has been a lot of up and down in how we feel. The problem is sticking to the diet 100%! Eating out is either out of the question or you go off diet. So we go off diet from time to time. We usually get sick afterwords. My 5 year old has no problem going back and forth. I thought our 10 year old was the same up until the last few weeks. It started when we decided to splerge on some easter candy. He kind of ate a lot at once and the next day stayed home from school 2 days with stomach problems. He ate it again a few days later and was out another day. Then last night we went to a movie and he had a whole bag of popcorn and a few bites of cotton candy and today he stayed home with stomach issues again. Could it be the jolt of junk food or non organic food in general? Getting him to eat healthy has always been a nightmare, but since the diet we have all been eating much better foods than before. We got them a multi vitamin, but it is a cheaper one, it is Alive chewables for kids. My husband and I just started taking Rainbow Light mens and womens multi vitamin. They are made with organic fruits and vegies. We also just discovered Kombocha(?) And have been drinking that a couple times a week. My husband added B12 suppliment and sometimes we take organic whey protien because we both walk over 10 miles a day for our job. I guess any advise on what to do and not to do would be great. Getting the kids where they need to be is a big priority but I do not want to over do it either. We are trying to add more protein to our diet since we have cut back on the meat by a lot. I am feeling an over all depressing and emotional for a while and I do not know why. For at least a month now, I have been listening to guided meditation to get me to sleep. Its the easiest most comfortable way to get to sleep but I am wondering if it is affecting my state of mind? Thank you for reading, hope you all can help keep us in the right direction!
