Painting on the skin is ineffective. Fully 85% is lost to evaporation, and only 15% is absorbed. Further, painting the same skin every day can cause serious skin problems. The recommended Iodine is Lugols liquid 5% or iodoral tablets 12.5mg or 50mg, to be taken with the recommended co-supplements. Most important is 200mcg selenium that must always be taken with Iodine to prevent potential problems with the thyroid. Iodine without selenium can result in hyperthyroid or hashimotos.
