But you believe the body is killed/destroyed, right? That's the whole reason you don't think people are literally going to be burning forever, as Spurgeon believed.

But Jesus says both the body and the soul can be destroyed in the same place, Hell, which is called the Lake of Fire, or the Second death. He doesn't separate the two or say they have separate fates.

And once again, Jesus was not telling the truth there if everyone inherently has an immortal soul. But he says the soul can be killed/destroyed in Hell, which is the Second Death. Immortality is the opposite of death you know.

Yes, the physical universe is transformed into 'a new heaven and a new earth', I agree, but it is still burned up first, and so is everyone that remains in it. Everything will be ashes before it's transformed into 'a new heaven and new earth'.

Malachi 4:
1a “For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble. The day that is coming shall set them ablaze, says the LORD of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. 2But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall. 3And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the LORD of hosts.

2 Peter 3:
10But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.
